State Quiz Bowl Teams place 2nd & 3rd

Our Kent County Quiz Bowl teams placed 2nd and 3rd at the Sr. Goat Quiz Bowl held at the Goat Expo in Lansing on Saturday, April 24th. Team A placed 2nd and Team B placed 3rd.

It was fun and exciting to see our teams play each other, not once, but twice during the play offs! Next year the challenge will be to beat Oceana County and earn 1st place. Congratulations to all!

REMINDER....

Mandatory Meeting for 2010 4-H Goat Project

There will be a meeting for all families who wish to do a 4-H Goat Project this year.

The objective is to review all the changes for this year, as well as to find out what your needs are. The meeting will last 30-45 minutes.

Please choose which date you wish to attend at the MSU Extension Office (775 Ball Ave) Tuesday April 13th @ 7pm OR Saturday, April 17th @ 10am.

Come early on April 13th! The GDC is having its regular meeting at 6pm. We are working on finalizing the plans for the Lowell Youth & 4-H Goat Show in July.

GLOM?

Thanks for the thumbs up on the GLOM club Michelle. The club is a small
informal group that (usually) meets the first Saturday night of the
month from October thru April. There is always a guest speaker, often
times Judy Marteniuk or Dr. LeeAnn Fosdick, Jan Kelley, etc. are there
to talk regarding goat related topics. Afterwards there is always time
to ask questions, be it on that subject or any other. We are always
open to ideas for upcoming meetings also. We meet at the Shiawassee
county fairgrounds community room, it starts at 7:30 p.m. and last two
hours or so. Bring a friend, it is worth the drive. This month we
are meeting the second Saturday of April. lk
